Star of the hit show “Firehouse Kitchen” and retired FDNY firefighter Ray Cooney will host the “Cooking with FDNY” event on August 22

Queens, NY – FDNY’s most talented chefs will compete in the Chili vs. Chowder cook-off on Wednesday, August 22, from 1-4pm at Resorts World Casino New York City’s Central Park Deck.

Each participating firehouse will submit one chili and one chowder for consideration. Host and retired firefighter Ray Cooney will also be participating with healthier version of the soups. The Cook-Off is part of Resorts World’s Employee Appreciation Day, and all entries will be judged by Resorts World employees. The attendees will have the opportunity to try the recipes and see which team brings home the coveted title. The Cook-Off winners will receive a gift certificate to RW Prime, Resorts Worlds’ recently revamped steakhouse!

The cook-off will raise awareness and money for FDNY’s Fired Up for a Cure, which leads efforts to permanently support cancer awareness, prevention and research for uniformed first responders, civilian members of the department and their families diagnosed with cancer.
