Carnival in the City

The Carnival in the City exhibit returned for another year featuring photography of the West Indian Carnival. The annual event unites millions of visitors in Brooklyn from Caribbean islands, Southern and Central American countries. A popular aspect of Carnival is J’Ouvert, the predawn celebration at the commencement of Carnival. The exhibit was in support of the NYC campaign “We Are J’Ouvert,” which promotes cultural awareness and anti-violence.
