NYC Homecoming Week: It’s Time for Hip Hop Concert Series

To celebrate New York City’s resilience during the pandemic, Mayor Bill de Blasio and the Universal Hip Hop Museum presented “It’s Time for Hip-Hop” concert series in all five boroughs. Resorts World New York City represented our hometown of Queens with a  generous sponsorship to make these star-studded concerts come to life.

City Meals on Wheels

Resorts World joined City Meals on Wheels delivering good food for a good cause. We delivered 57 boxes of food to seniors in Queens. We proudly support City Meals on Wheels and their efforts of providing healthy meals to homebound seniors.  

River Fund

With school season approaching, Resorts World New York City partnered with River Fund to distribute backpacks and school supplies to families in South Queens. River Fund is one of NYC’s foremost organizations combating poverty and we are proud to support their efforts.

Resorts World New York City is proud to support the 11th Annual Queens World Film Festival. The festival honored the entire staff of Elmhurst Hospital and RWNYC sponsored 200 season passes for attendees to screen over 200 films from 30 different countries.

Boys and Girls Club Career Day Panel

Resorts World New York City participated in Boys & Girls Club of Metro Queens’ Career Day panel. Community Development Manager, Warlito Deleon, and Hotel Sales Manager, Marizela Alfaro, spoke to students about working in the hospitality field and gave advice about entering the workforce and working with mentors.  

Queens Botanical Garden

Queens is home to many people, filled with many cultures and flourished with beautiful plants and trees. To continue our volunteering efforts, RWNYC employees helped beautify the garden by planting trees. Our garden can be seen at the main entrance of Queens Botanical Garden throughout the summer.

Queens Chamber of Commerce Adopt a – Member Program

Resorts World New York City is proud to join Queens Chamber of Commerce’s Adopt-a-Member program. RWNYC is sponsoring 40 local small businesses with a complimentary one-year membership to the Queens Chamber. Jamaica Bay Beach Clean Up

In honor of Earth Day, Resorts World New York City sponsored the American Littoral Society Beach Cleanup. Jamaica Bay is close to home and RWNYC employees helped with trash cleanup along the bay’s shoreline. Over 1,800 pounds of trash were collected! We’re proud to continue protecting our ecosystems and uphold our community beautification efforts.

Earth Day Tree-Planting at Resorts World New York City

Resorts World New York City plants one tree on Earth Day to commemorate each year that we have been open. We began back in 2011, and this year, we planted TWO trees, one for 2020 and one for 2021. A total of 10 trees are on our beautiful lawn at the Rockaway Boulevard entrance.

Mets Fan Blood Drive

New York Blood Center partnered with Resorts World New York City to host a Mets Fan Blood Drive. Donors included locals from the community and RWNYC employees. The event garnered 46 blood donations which equals to more than 138 lives affected.

Lunar New Year Celebrations

Gong Xi Fa Cai! Resorts World New York City celebrated Lunar New Year with annual traditions such as the dotting of the eye ceremony and an exuberant lion dance around the casino. Queens Borough President, Donovan Richards, was our guest of honor for the celebration.

American Cancer Society

RWNYC employees helped to raise over $6000 in donations to the American Cancer Society. Once again, we surpassed our goal and continued our efforts to support the breast cancer awareness cause.

QCA Gala

Back to the 80’s! RWNYC co-sponsored the Queens Council on the Arts Gala which honored local artist and supports individual artist, art organizations expressing cultural diversity to benefit their communities.

Lunar New Year at QBH

Our annual toy drive was held at RWNYC to help aid organizations distribute toys to children in need.
