Queens Economic Development Grant 

May 2017

Resorts World Casino New York City awarded the Queens Economic Development Corporation a $50,000 grant to fund their StartUP! Business Plan Competition for 2017-18. The competition aims to support budding entrepreneurship throughout the borough of Queens. The contestants have the opportunity compete in one of three categories: community, food-based, or innovation.

Queens Day in Albany 

May 2017

In partnership with Queens Borough President Melinda Katz and the Queens Chamber of Commerce, Resorts World Casino New York City and more than 150 chamber members showcased the culture, tourism and economic development of the borough of Queens. Buses were provided by RWCNYC to transport attendees to Albany. 

York College 50th Anniversary Gala Donation 

May 2017

Resorts World Casino New York City awarded $10,000 to York College to support local education for students in need of financial aid in the borough of Queens. The donation supported York’s 50th Anniversary Gala held on Wednesday, May 10, 2017. Our continuous support has contributed to their scholarship base and has allowed them to continue to provide education to students in the community who need financial aid.

Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refugee Photography 

April 2017

Celebrating Environmental Awareness Month, Resorts World Casino New York City’s Red Wall Art Gallery showcased an exhibit of art from the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge from April 12 – May 5, 2017. The exhibit featured several photographs of wildlife from the refuge captured by the Bay’s Guardian, Don Riepe. The Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge is a part of the Gateway National Recreation Area and is one of the most significant bird sanctuaries in the Northeastern United States. 

Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge Beach Clean Up
April 2017

Resorts World Casino New York City joined the American Littoral Society and the National Parks Service to assist the community to clean up Jamaica Bay. Participants removed debris from the Marsh Shoreline region. In total, there were over 10 bags of plastic, metal cans, glass bottles and an old tire collected; all which impact the growth of the Marsh Shoreline.

American Italian Cancer Foundation's Mobile Care Clinic 
March 2017

In, Resorts World Casino New York City partnered with the American Italian Cancer Foundation to hold a Mobile Care Clinic on Thursday, March 9 at the casino. Community members had the opportunity to receive digital mammograms and clinical breast exams at no-cost. The American Italian Cancer Foundation’s Mobile Care Clinic serves thousands of medically underserved women, many of whom have no insurance and could not otherwise afford such care.

It Takes A Village Exhibit
February 2017

In celebration of Black History Month, Resorts World Casino New York City honored muralist, painter, sculptor, fabric designer and poet Emmett Wigglesworth and displayed his unique artwork throughout the casino, in collaboration with the Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning in a special exhibit entitled “It Takes a Village.” The exhibit featured a sculpture entitled "It is Not Enough to See…One must See Through to Find Truth," which was composed of 16 life-sized painted foam core sculptures and 8 large paintings on display.

Chinese Calligraphy Exhibit 
January 2017

To celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year, a calligraphy exhibit by artists of the North American Chinese Calligraphy Association (NACCA) was shown at the Red Wall Art Gallery in partnership with the Jamaica Center for Arts & Learning. Guests were also able to experience a live calligraphy writing demonstration by artists Liu, Yunqiang (劉雲強) and Sheng, Xinde (沈新德).  

American Red Cross Blood Drive

December 2016

Resorts World Casino New York City, in partnership with the American Red Cross, hosted the final blood drive of the year. With over 29 donations, this was the best drive in over 2 years, helping us surpass our goal of 100 pints!

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center's Rainbow Ball

Jamaica Hospital celebrated their 125th year of service with their annual Rainbow Ball gala. At the gala, Jamaica Hospital honored Resorts World Casino New York City’s president Ryan Eller for his commitment to supporting initiatives which improve the local communities.

Resorts World Casino New York City is proud to partner with the Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning as they celebrate a creative Jamaica. JCAL is a leading non-profit organization in the Queens community specializing in visual, performing and literary arts, arts education and programs encouraging particitpation in the arts and contributing to the cultural enrichment of the community.

Breast Cancer Walk
October 2016

The Resorts World Casino New York City team participated in the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park. The Resorts World team raised a total of $4,645.

Global Cuisine of Queens

November 2016

The 13th Annual Global Cuisine of Queens is a culinary celebration benefiting the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Queens. The tasting event, held at Resorts World Casino New York City, featured 30 restaurants, bakeries, breweries and wineries across New York City. Resorts World Casino New York City and BGCMQ raised a combined total of over $46,000.

Life Reimagined Exhibit

November 2016

Resorts World Casino New York City is proud to feature the Life Reimagined exhibit at the Red Wall Gallery. The exhibit features artwork completed by a diverse group of residents of the Pomonok Senior Center located in Flushing, Queens. Pomonok is a program serviced through Queens Community House, a modern interpretation of the traditional settlement house.

Senator Joseph Addabbo Job Fair

Senator Joe Addabbo held his annual Fall Job Fair at Resorts World Casino New York City. Over 130 companies were in attendance.

Sour, Sweet, Bitter, Spicy MOCA exhibit opening

October 2016

Resorts World Casino New York City partners with the Museum of Chinese in America to donate to their Sour, Sweet, Bitter and Spicy exhibition. The exhibit features an imaginary banquet of guests representing diverse histories, cuisines, and geographic regions.
