Resorts World New York City Serves as Proud Sponsor of Big Apple Honor Flight

Queens, NY – Resorts World New York City (RWNYC) served as the proud sponsor of the third Big Apple Honor Flight (BAHF) on Saturday, May 13. The missions transport veterans from NYC to Washington, D.C. on one-day trips to view the memorials built in their honor. The trips are provided at no cost to the veterans. Top priority is given to World War II, Korean War, and terminally ill veterans from all wars.

“We owe these heroes a huge debt for sacrificing so much in the name of our country,” said Michelle Stoddart, Vice President of Community Development, Resorts World New York City. “To be able to honor them with a special journey to visit the memorials to those who were lost serving alongside them in battle is the least we can do. We hope it was a day they will always remember.”

RWNYC also served as a rally point ahead of the flight, providing the veterans with a place to meet up with food and drinks before they were bussed, with NYPD highway escorts and motorcycle groups, to John F. Kennedy International Airport.
