Toy Drive

December 2019

Our annual toy drive was held at RWNYC to help aid organizations distribute toys to children in need. We collected over 200 toys to be distributed to organizations such as Dominico-American Society, Assemblyman Clyde Vanel, Love Fellowship Tabernacle, and more. This effort is a part of the RWNYC Good Neighbor Network that assists local non-profits to fulfill their mission and helping families have a prosperous holiday. 

Community Turkey Drive

November 2019 

RWNYC teamed up with Assemblywoman Alicia Hyndman, Councilmember Daneek Miller, and Senator Leroy Comrie to distribute free turkeys to the Southeast Queens community.

 

 

Making Strides Walk

Resorts World Casino New York City joined thousands of breast cancer survivors and supporters at the annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. This year the RWNYC team raised up to $8,000 in donations to support the cause.

 

Queens Tourism Council

September 2019

In partnership with the Queens Tourism Council, RWNYC volunteers to "take over" the QTC booth at the US Open.  The event attracts thousands of tennis lovers to the beloved borough of Queens. RWNYC donates a small item to put in the QTC goodie bag to hand out to patrons and encourage visitors to see all that Queens offer!

Diner en Blanc Long Island!

The hottest all-white party of the summer is, of course, Diner en Blanc Long Island! Diner en Blanc Long Island is an exclusive event where attendees create an elegant DIY dining experience. The event is even held a secret location! Can you picture a Parisian decor, majestic horses, fairies, and a dinner party? Resorts World Casino NYC bet you can, as they were top sponsors for this event. Resorts World Casino New York City sponsorship provided the event with picturesque props so patrons can take Insta-worthy pics!

Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival

August 2019

Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival is one of Resorts World Casino NYC's newest supporters. The festival garners 20,000 soca, dancehall and reggae lovers, cultural enthusiasts from all over the world. The festival is held in Roy Wilkins Park only 15 minutes away from Resorts World Casino New York City. In 2020, Resorts World Casino New York City plans to enhance their sponsorship with Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival providing a new and exciting experience at the event.

 

 

Dragon Boat Festival

RWNYC partnered with MRBI Radio to co-sponsor the Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival. Festival-goers spun our lucky wheel to win prizes and the event was broadcasted live on radio.

 

National Night Out

August 2019

National Night Out is a community-building event that promotes law enforcement to positively connect with members of their local neighborhood. Resorts World Casino New York City partnered with 106th Precinct and Community Board 10 to dedicate their service to the community.

Wingate Concert Series

July 2019

RWNYC headed out to Brooklyn to co-sponsor one of the hottest concerts in NYC: Wingate Concert Series presented by Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams and WBLS. Concert-goers stayed hydrated with RWNYC waters while jamming out to live performances.

 

Trey Whitfield Foundation Gala

The Trey Whitfield Foundation is an organization that believes that today’s youth should be granted equal access to educational opportunities that they need to prosper in their lives. RWNYC donated $10,000 to the foundation to aid their scholarship funds and continue the Trey Whitfield Foundation mission to aspire and uplift teens and young adults.  

Only in Queens Festival

RWNYC kicked off the summer by participating as a vendor/sponsor at the Only in Queens Summer Stage presented by Queens Borough President Melinda Katz. Hundreds of concert-goers spun our lucky wheel to win prizes!

 

Shred-It 'N Forget It Day

Resorts World Casino New York City held our 3rd annual Shred-It 'N Forget It Day. Locals came to participate in this environmentally friendly day to dispose unwanted papers and electronics. 

Blood Drive

May 2019
Three times a year Resorts World Casino New York City holds a blood drive open to employees and the public. This May was the first event out of three and it was very successful! We surpassed our goal of 27 pints blood by scoring 32 units. 32 donors attended the blood drive and potentially saved the lives of 96 people! 

RDRC Gala

This year, Resorts World Casino NYC was the "Entertainment Sponsor" for the RDRC (Rockaway Development and Revitalization Corp) gala. The Rockaways are one of the zoned communities of Resorts World Casino NYC. With this connection, Resorts World Casino NYC proudly funds RDRC to continue to provide economic and community stability in the Rockaways. 

Queens Botanical Garden

Resorts World Casino New York City sponsored the Beer and Wine Garden for Queens Botanical Garden Arbor Day Festival. It was a fun day for families where they enjoyed activities, music and of course Arbor Day inspired beer and wine. 

Business Expo 2019

Queens is home to many businesses from small mom and pop stores to large corporations. Resorts World Casino NYC affiliation with the Queens Chamber of Commerce helps the establishment recognize these local businesses and make connections with them. The Queens Chamber of Commerce Business Expo was the perfect opportunity for RWCNYC to gain recognition in the Queens business community. At the expo, RWNYC enticed patrons with fun games and giveaways.

Boys and Girls Club

Boys and Girls Club of Metro Queens "Youth of the Year" Award ceremony celebrates an outstanding teen who made an impact in their lives. RW Gives a generous contribution of $30K will aid BGCMQ mission to empower local youths. 

Career Day

Students from LaGuardia Community College, Queens College, and more colleges joined Resorts World Casino New York City Career Day. The day consisted of speeches and advice from employees followed by a Q & A. Students were able to explore the many possible career paths that the casino offers. Also, the day topped off with fun raffle prizes, giveaways and a tour of the casino.

Drop Everything and Read Day

April 2019

RW Gives celebrated DEAR Day (Drop Everything and Read Day) with Jamaica Hospital Pediatric ward. RWCNYC employess dropped their busy schedules to visit the ward and read to children. RW Gives funded the pediatric ward with activity wall games and a makeover to brighten childrens time in the hospital.

QEDC StartUP! Competition

April 2019
Resorts World Casino New York City hosted the 2019 QEDC StartUP! Business Plan competition. The annual competition includes students of the business program presenting their entrepreneurial ideas and a Q & A of successful entrepreneurs led by RWNYC Director of Financial Planning Bill Singh. RW Gives donated $50K to QEDC to aid the program and reward three winners with $10k to help fund their business.

Queens Day in Albany

Resorts World Gives joined the Queens Chamber of Commerce and Borough President Melinda Katz for the 3rd Annual Queens Day in Albany. The day included a meet and greet with State Legislators, tours of the majestic Capitol Building and Legislative Chambers as well as a reception featuring some of the finest food and drink purveyors from the Queens community.

Cheryl Wills and Lorna Rainey

March 2019

For Women's History Month, Cheryl Wills of Spectrum News and her friend Lorna Rainey visited Resorts World Casino New York City.  They came to discuss the exhibition "Six Outstanding Women of Queens" which honored successful women from the borough. Cheryl Wills who is a Queens native and author of two books, "Emancipated: My Family's Fight For Freedom" and "The Emancipation of Grandpa Sandy Wills". RW Gives distributed several signed copies of the books to schools and libraries on Ms. Wills behalf.

AM1480 18th Anniversary Gala

AM 1480 is a long standing supporter of Resorts World Casino New York City. Highlighting Asian media in New York City, AM 1480 has been integral in the Asian community for nearly a decade. AM 1480 also host Resorts World Casino New York City annual Flower Market.

NAN Luncheon

Resorts World Casino New York City are proud allies of the National Action Network. NAN is one of the leading civil rights organizations founded by Reverend Al Sharpton. The organization promotes sociopolitical justice and equal opportunities for a diverse group of people. Being located in one of the most ethnically diverse communities, RWNYC recognizes the importance of unity and justice almost people regardless of their differences.

2019 marked the Year of the Pig, Resorts World Casino New York City celebrated with a Lion Dance ceremony around the casino. Lion Dancers pranced around the casino and greeted customers with good luck and prosperity for the new year.

Resorts World Casino New York City endorsed this event in support of Borough President Melinda Katz and the Queens Chamber of Commerce strives to improve the borough of Queens.

School Sisters of Notre Dame

SSND Education Center empowers underserved women of all races and faiths to reach their full potential. The Center provides free programs that educate and nurture the whole person within a safe and welcoming environment. Each year the organization hosts a Mardi Gras theme celebration to raise funds for their programming.

Black Panther Challenge

Queens native Shomari, who played a Jabari Drummer in Marvel’s Black Panther movie, lead the “Black Panther Challenge.” The campaign brought 300 Queens students to a private screening of the highly-anticipated movie at the Jamaica Multiplex Cinemas. Resorts World Casino New York City sponsored the challenge.

Queens Center for Progress’ Evening of Fine Food

Queens Center for Progress held their annual Evening of Fine Food filled with lavish tastings of food and drinks from more than forty Queens-based restaurants, wine and spirits, and specialty-food destinations. The organization also honored Resorts World Casino New York City’s president, Scott Molina, as one of the “Chefs of the Year.”

New York Cares Coat Drive

Every holiday season, Resorts World Casino New York City partners with New York Cares to collect and distribute winter coats throughout the New York City area. With the help of employees and local community, we donated over 500 coats. This year, we also became an official drop-off location for the drive.

Resorts World Casino New York City continued their season of giving with donations of toys to those in need. Over 200 toys were donated to the local community including State Senator Leroy Comrie, Assemblywoman Alicia Hyndman, the Showing Hearts Foundation and Dominico-American Society of Queens.

South East Queens Winter Fest

Resorts World Gives partnered with Councilman Daneek Miller to present this fun-filled day for the youth in the community. Children who attended enjoyed an afternoon of free entertainment, a picture with Santa Claus and a free gift!

Roughly 600 people in search of employment assembled at Resorts World Casino New York City for State Senator Joe Addabbo, Jr.’s annual job fair. The event featured more than 150 potential employers from across a wide range of career fields.

Resorts World Casino New York City sponsored One Brooklyn Fund’s 2017 Inaugural Gala. Held at the Brooklyn Museum, the event honored Cornerstone Brooklyn Businesses who have served the borough of Brooklyn for 50 years or more. 

NYPD National Night Out 2017 in Queens

For the past three years, Resorts World Casino New York City has partnered with the Trey Whitfield Foundation, a nonprofit organization founded by former NFL play AB Whitfield which honors his son.

Red Cross Blood Drive

In partnership with the American Red Cross, Resorts World Casino New York City held another successful blood drive. With over 20 donors, this drive met its goal of 24 pints.

NY Liberty Pride Night

The New York Liberty’s Pride Night game presented by Resorts World Casino New York City took place on Friday, June 23rd, 2017 at Madison Square Garden. The Liberty matched Resorts World’s donation to the Ali Forney Center for a total of $10,000.

Jamaica Bay Guardian Program

In efforts to show economic support for the Jamaica Bay region, Resorts World Casino New York City donated to the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge’s Guardian Program. The program focuses on education, community engagement, advocacy, and restoration in the area. 

QEDC Grant

Resorts World Casino New York City awarded the Queens Economic Development Corporation a $50,000 grant to fund their StartUP! Business Plan Competition for 2017-18. The competition aims to support budding entrepreneurship throughout the borough of Queens. The contestants have the opportunity to compete in one of three categories: community, food-based, or innovation.

Queens Day in Albany

In partnership with Queens Borough President Melinda Katz and the Queens Chamber of Commerce, Resorts World Casino New York City and more than 150 chamber members showcased the culture, tourism and economic development of the borough of Queens. Buses were provided by RWCNYC to transport attendees to Albany. 

York College 50th Anniversary

Resorts World Casino New York City awarded $10,000 to York College to support local education for students in need of financial aid in the borough of Queens. The donation supported York’s 50th Anniversary Gala held on Wednesday, May 10, 2017. Our continuous support has contributed to their scholarship base and has allowed them to continue to provide education to students in the community who need financial aid.

Jamaica Bay Beach Clean Up

April 2017

Resorts World Casino New York City joined the American Littoral Society and the National Parks Service to assist the community to clean up Jamaica Bay. Participants removed debris from the Marsh Shoreline region. In total, there were over 10 bags of plastic, metal cans, glass bottles and an old tire collected; all which impact the growth of the Marsh Shoreline.

American Italian Cancer Foundation

March 2017

In, Resorts World Casino New York City partnered with the American Italian Cancer Foundation to hold a Mobile Care Clinic on Thursday, March 9 at the casino. Community members had the opportunity to receive digital mammograms and clinical breast exams at no-cost. The American Italian Cancer Foundation’s Mobile Care Clinic serves thousands of medically underserved women, many of whom have no insurance and could not otherwise afford such care.

Emmets Wigglesworth: It Takes A Village Exhibit

In celebration of Black History Month, Resorts World Casino New York City honored muralist, painter, sculptor, fabric designer and poet Emmett Wigglesworth and displayed his unique artwork throughout the casino, in collaboration with the Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning in a special exhibit entitled “It Takes a Village.” The exhibit featured a sculpture entitled "It is Not Enough to See…One must See Through to Find Truth," which was composed of 16 life-sized painted foam core sculptures and 8 large paintings on display.

Jamaica Hospital celebrated their 125th year of service with their annual Rainbow Ball gala. At the gala, Jamaica Hospital honored Resorts World Casino New York City’s president Ryan Eller for his commitment to supporting initiatives which improve the local communities.

Boys and Girls Club Global Cuisine of Queens

The 13th Annual Global Cuisine of Queens is a culinary celebration benefiting the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Queens. The tasting event, held at Resorts World Casino New York City, featured 30 restaurants, bakeries, breweries and wineries across New York City. Resorts World Casino New York City and BGCMQ raised a combined total of over $46,000.

Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk
