(Queens, NY) – Don’t miss Wintercon this Friday, November 22nd to Sunday, November 24th at Resorts World Casino New York City! Hosted at Resorts World’s very own Central Park Event space, Wintercon has been gaining popularity over the years as hundreds of cosplayers, sci-fi enthusiasts, and comic book fans gather to enjoy the festivities. This is the only convention of its kind happening in Queens! The event will feature celebrity guests, such as the entire cast of Farscape Stargate SG1, reuniting for their 20th anniversary! Additional special guest appearances will include the casts of Alien, Battlestar Galactica, The Neverending Story, and Karan Ashley, who played Yellow Ranger in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. This month’s Wintercon will also feature a Cosplay Contest, open to professionals and newcomers, who will be judged by celebrity guests on their craftsmanship, attention to detail, and uniqueness, featuring contestants from all over the world. Exhibits at Wintercon will include toys, action figures and collectibles for sale from major toy companies, as well as professional comic book resellers and other independent vendors.
Wintercon will also feature a variety of artistic exhibits, including Artists Alley, an exhibition of prints, posters, and cards from some of the world’s top comic book artists. Special appearances will include Mark Morales, artist of X-Men, Harley Quinn, and the Avengers, and Nik Virella, artist of Black Widow, Hyperion, and Wolverine. Resorts World’s very own Red Wall Art Gallery also teamed up with past and current artists from Wintercon, presenting work from Peat Vazquez, McKel Supreme, Sebastian Bonet, and Michael Gianakos. The exhibition will run from November 20th, 2019 until mid-December.
This month’s Wintercon will also feature fun events for kids of all ages, including a Kids Costume Showcase and a Jedi Training Academy, hosted by The Empire Saber Guild.
