Under the theme “Malaysia Celebrates US250: Celebrating Friendship Through Culture, Cuisine, and Community,” the festival will bring the spirit of Malaysia to the wider New York community through the country’s rich heritage of food, culture, performing arts, and traditional community games, known as sukan rakyat. The outdoor, family-friendly daytime celebration combines official ceremonial moments with continuous cultural performances, culinary booths, and community games throughout the day.
The free, family friendly festival is expected to welcome over 1,000 visitors, including members of the general public, the diplomatic corps, and the Malaysian diaspora from across New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts.
