Queens Get The Paper
Queens Get the Paper is a magazine dedicated to celebrating the rich spirit of Queens by shining a spotlight on the small businesses, artists, entrepreneurs, institutions and local legends that make Queens one of the most vibrant and diverse communities in the world.
Every issue is crafted for Queens by Queens by employing Queens photographers and writers, giving local artists what is for some their first paychecks to license their work and giving our community members a platform to tell their stories and advertise their businesses for free.
With this Fashion issue, we celebrate the “tradition of resourcefulness” ingrained in the fabric of all Queens’ residents and we honor those who bring their heritage, their personality, and their style to the of textiles and self expression; Founders of brands who use their work to do good for the community, people who studied and hustled and sweat to make a name for themselves, and those that put the work in whether there’s clear skies or hurricanes.
This issue also spotlights talent like Hot 97’s DJ Camilo, who rose from a Jackson Heights mixtape grind to building a global platform for Latin music. Readers are taken inside the Yemeni, Mexican, Thai, and Guyanese family-owned delis that define neighborhood life across Queens. Our fashion coverage traces the borough’s influence from the fabric shops of Jamaica and Jackson Heights to the rise of global brands such as Kith and Awake NY. We also sit down with icons like Cormega and Grafh, who reflect on Queens’ impact on hip hop and share their own stories of perseverance and giving back.
Like the borough itself, this issue is layered, bold, and full of voices you will not hear anywhere else. And we would love your business to be part of it.
