Resorts World New York City announced today it’s hosting a pre-Lunar New Year event this weekend to help guests get everything they will need to welcome the Year of the Rabbit. The annual event, scheduled for Saturday, January 7 and Sunday, January 8 from 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., will feature a flower market, live entertainment, and 40 vendors selling everything from traditional Chinese goods to jewelry.
“Resorts World is celebrating the Year of the Rabbit with 15 days of exciting events and promotions,” said Ayesha Ma, Vice President of Asian Marketing, Resorts World New York City. “We invite everyone to visit the Pre-Lunar New Year Flower Market this weekend. It’s integral to the community because patrons can buy goods in preparation for the Lunar New Year. A fully stocked home before the new year signifies wealth and fulfillment throughout the year.”
1,500 people, including Councilwoman Selvena Brooks-Powers, are expected to attend the event, which will take place in the Central Park Event Space on the casino’s third floor.
It will be broadcast live on radio channel 1380 AM (Mandarin) and 1480 AM (Cantonese).
Lunar New Year falls on Sunday, January 22. The rabbit is said to be a symbol of prosperity and peace in Asian culture, and it’s expected all of the animal signs will have a “hopeful” year in 2023.
