Queens, NY – Resorts World New York City (RWNYC) was proud to serve as a sponsor of Groovin’ in the Park, which returned to Roy Wilkins Park in Queens on Sunday, June 25.
Groovin’ in the Park, North America’s premier reggae and R&B festival, was celebrating its 10th anniversary. The family-friendly event featured an array of music catering to a diverse audience from the USA and the Caribbean. Headliners included Charlie Wilson, Tarrus Riley, Wayne Wonder and David Rodigan.
In addition to sponsoring the event, Resorts World had a tent sent up with plenty of giveaways like T-shirts, hats and water bottles. They also presented Groovin’ in the Park with a check for $10,000, made possible through Resorts World Gives, Resorts World’s corporate philanthropic program, which supports innovative organizations with clear goals and proven results.
“After a three-year hiatus, Resorts World was happy to join in the return of Groovin’ in the Park,” said Michelle Stoddart, Vice President of Community Development, Resorts World New York City. “It was great to see so many people moving and grooving and to hear so many excellent performances, especially as the festival celebrated its anniversary. It got its start the same year as Resorts World, and we look forward to partnering together in Queens for many years to come.”
