In observance of Black History Month, “Music Noir” by local Queens artist Jeffrey Joseph depicts famous Black American musicians who are recognized for their contributions in Hip Hop, R&B, Soul, and Pop music. Black Americans created music as a gateway to overcome the hardships they faced in American society. Some musicians included in the exhibition are Hip Hop pioneers such as Sean Combs and LL Cool J and Grammy-Award winning R&B singers Alicia Keys and Mary J.Blidge.
